Minor pet peeve: I hate it when someone calls me and starts off with, "Am I interrupting?"

Yes. Obviously, you are interrupting something. Whatever I was doing, whether it was something vitally important or picking bellybutton lint, is now ended or paused due to the phone call.

Grr! The worst part is, I'm pretty sure it's considered rude to blurt out, "Yes, actually!" and hang up. (And by "pretty sure", I mean "approximately 100%, give or take 0%".)
